The publication season of the results of the first quarter of 2021 (1Q21) was started by the companies listed on the Stock Exchange.

1Q21 Results: 04/23
On April 23, two companies started the 1Q21 results calendar: Hypera and Usiminas.
According to the Hypera (HYPE3), the pharmaceutical company achieved a net profit of R $ 305.1 million in its first quarterly report in 2021. Compared to the same quarter last year, there was an increase of 28%.
Then the Usiminas (USIM5) reported net income of R $ 1.2 billion for 1Q21. Thus, the company in the steel sector reversed the loss of R $ 423.9 million in the same period of the previous year.
1Q21 Results: 04/26
On Monday, 26, two more companies revealed their performances between January and March this year: Smiles and OK.
According to the report of the Smiles (SMLS3), the company recorded a net profit of R $ 47.7 million in the first three months of 2021. Therefore, there was a 46.9% decrease compared to the performance of the same period in 2020.
Meanwhile, the OK (VALE3) reached a net profit of US $ 5.5 billion in 1Q21, representing an impressive jump of 2,220%. For comparison, in the first quarter of 2020, profit reached US $ 239 million.
1Q21 Results: 4/27
On Tuesday, the 27th, the volume of companies reporting quarterly performance increased. Among the highlights, it is worth mentioning the results of the companies Moved and Let’s go, both subsidiaries of Simpar.
In summary, the Moved (MOVI3) reached an adjusted net profit of R $ 109.5 million in the first three months of 2021. In the same period last year, the profit was R $ 55 million. That is, a growth of almost 99%.
Regarding the Vamos Group (VAMO3), there was a 100% increase in profit in 1Q21, where the result achieved was R $ 73 million in the period.
1Q21 Results: 4/28
On Wednesday, 28, some of the highlights among the quarterly reports came from the Santander Bank and WEG.
In this sense, the Santander (SANB11) announced a net profit of R $ 4 billion in 1Q21, the highest quarterly result of the financial institution in Brazil since 2010. At the same time, it meant a slight increase of 4.1% compared to the profit of R $ 3.8 billion in 1Q20 .
About WEG (WEGE3), its net income for 1Q21 amounted to R $ 764 million. Considering that the result of a year before was a profit of R $ 440 million, the most recent data had an increase of 73.7%.
1Q21 Results: 4/29
On Thursday, the 29th, it is worth mentioning the companies related to the airline sector Embraer and Goal, which showed signs of how they fared in the first three months of 2021.
In the case of Embraer (EMBR3), the aircraft manufacturer reached an adjusted net loss of R $ 522.9 million in the period. Therefore, there was a worsening compared to also a loss of R $ 433.6 million registered a year earlier.
Regarding the Goal (GOLL4), a net loss of R $ 2.52 billion was announced in 1Q21. Thus, the airline increased the loss of R $ 2.28 billion in the result for the first quarter of 2020 by 10.5%.
