BTG Pactual said on Friday (2) that it will offer its customers Bitcoin investments starting at R $ 1.
The initiative will make the investment bank the first in Brazil to offer this service for such a low price. The announcement was made by the institution’s variable income head Value.
According to Will Landers, the purpose of the resolution, in partnership with Hashdex, is to enter the market by offering retail funds:
“It is an asset that has a lot of demand around the world and there is not so much supply in Brazil. We think that, with our expertise in distribution and technology, we could put this in a package that would be easier for investors to access. ”
Investment from R $ 1
To win customers with little knowledge in the segment, the bank will offer investments in BTC with no performance fee and from R $ 1.
In addition, it will charge only 0.5% for the administration, which is lower than the FIC Hashdex. The fund invests 20% in Bitcoin and the rest in fixed income in Brazil.
According to Landers, the application strategy in a single cryptocurrency was decided not to create difficulties in investments.
In this way, the investor follows the valuation of the most liquid digital asset in the market in a simplified way.
Currently, Bitcoin has more than $ 1 trillion in market value. Your price, at the time of this writing, is $ 59,602.47.
Carbon free background
Attentive to the discussions in the cryptocurrency market, the executive ensures that BTG values solutions that reduce Bitcoin’s environmental impact:
“It is a carbon free fund, in line with the bank’s ESG strategy. Since Bitcoin mining requires a lot of electricity, we buy carbon credit. ”
Millionaire contribution?
Despite the rise in Bitcoin, the executive says the cryptocurrency has not yet reached its historic high. This scenario makes the investment even more attractive:
“It is not at ATH, but it is close. Anyway, for any type of investment, the recommendation is not to allocate the entire portfolio and we want to explain what it is. Put videos online about cryptocurrencies and blockchain. ”
In an analysis of the whole panorama, Landers believes that the contribution to the fund will reach the millions soon:
“We do not release products that are not for hundreds of millions of reais in some quarters.”
Cryptocurrency ETF in Brazil
BTG teamed up with Itaú, Hashdex and Genial to launch the first cryptocurrency ETF in Brazil.
In March, the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) gave carte blanche to institutions to coordinate offers with institutional investors.
As reported by CriptoFácil, the minimum funding offer for the fund will be R $ 250 million.
