Há exatos 10 anos, Satoshi Nakamoto fazia sua última aparição

Crypto Milled – Exactly 10 years ago, Satoshi Nakamoto made his last appearance – News

The Bitcoin universe is full of special dates. This Monday (26th), another notable event in the history of BTC celebrates its 10th anniversary.

On April 26, 2011, the creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, sent his last message. On the same date he would disappear completely, “abandoning” Bitcoin forever.

Message was addressed to Gavin Andresen

Unlike Satoshi’s last public message, his last message was in fact addressed to an individual. The recipient was Gavin Andresen, a developer who was one of the pioneers of Bitcoin.

For many, he became known as the “right hand of Satoshi”, due to his initial contribution to Bitcoin. He was also the creator of the first faucet for free distribution of BTC.

In his last message, Satoshi already shows the degree of detachment with his fame. The last request made by him was for Andresen not to give prominence to his figure, but to the Bitcoin code.

“I wish you didn’t keep talking about me as a dark and mysterious figure, the press just addresses that [o Bitcoin] under the angle of a pirate coin. Instead, talk about the open source project and give your development contributors more credit. It helps to motivate them, ”said Satoshi.

After that message, Satoshi disappeared without a trace. Instead, Bitcoin came to be taken care of by a group of developers, Bitcoin Core.

Lack of leadership: risk or quality?

Satoshi’s disappearance is perhaps a unique phenomenon in the cryptocurrency world. He not only disappeared, but also never redeemed any Bitcoin held in his wallets.

Despite being one of the richest people in the world, he never enjoyed it. No looting, conversion, any sign of its existence has even been identified in the past 10 years.

For Tatiana Revoredo, lawyer and strategist in Blockchain at the University of Oxford and MIT, the disappearance of Satoshi shows the strength of BTC. Even without it, the network has grown and maintained its decentralization since its emergence.

“Anyone can join and leave the network whenever they want. Anyone can build on their protocol. Satoshi does not control the Bitcoin network. ”

She agrees with Satoshi’s greatness thesis by disappearing. To explain this, she cites an excerpt from her recently released book, “Bitcoin, CBDC, DeFi and Stablecoin”.

“Satoshi was smart enough and humble to recognize that his creation transcended his existence and would impact the relationship between citizens and governments, between governments and companies, as well as all industries, causing a change in the Era”, he concludes.
